SUPPORT GROUP for Familes & Friends of GLBT's

The Capital Region Support Group for Families and Friends of GLBT persons, under the sponsorship of the Capital District Gay and Lesbian Community Council - Website: cdglcc.org - meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Fireplace Room of the Unitarian Society Building, 1221 Wendell Avenue, Schenectady.

I'm passionately and actively against discrimination and oppression of any kind. As a survivor of domestic violence and a student of human and community services, I have learned that random acts of violence beget fear and the constant threat of violence is what keeps victims oppressed and feeds the oppressors. My hope is that initiating this blog & forming the PFLAG Capital Region NY Chapter,will not only supply support, advocacy, education & information to LGBT's & their families and friends, but will eventually grow and have the capability to better educate the general public about the "mysteries" of sex and gender in order to replace the ignorance and fear that have created homophobia with intelligence, logic, understanding, tolerance and equal rights.
